What is TRC (Tax Residency Certificate) in the UAE

The TRC is a certificate issued for eligible government entities, companies and individuals to take advantage of agreements of double taxation avoidance on income to which the UAE is a signatory. 3.2 Eligibility Criteria. Natural persons. The applicant must have been a resident of the UAE for at least 180 days.

How to get TRC Certificate

  1. To get TRC – Tax Residency Certificate who are not registered for TRN.
  2. To get TRC – Tax Residency Certificate who are registered for TRN.

To get TRC - Tax Residency Certificate who are not registered for TRN

  1. First get an Audit Report from Minister of Economy approved auditors in the UAE. 
  2. Submit the Audit Report to the FTA portal.
  3. Provide the tenancy contract and last six months bank statements.
  4. Submit it to the FTA portal 
  5. If the company requires a specific format for different countries the same also should be approved by the FTA.
  6. FTA will review the reports and documents submitted to the portal and once the specified fees is paid to the FTA the FTA will issue the TRC certificate.

To get TRC - Tax Residency Certificate who are registered for TRN

  1. First get an Audit Report from Minister of Economy approved auditors in the UAE. 
  2. Submit the Audit Report to the FTA portal.
  3. Provide the tenancy contract and last six months bank statements.
  4. Submit it to the FTA portal 
  5. If the company requires a specific format for different countries the same also should be approved by the FTA.
  6. FTA will review the reports and documents submitted to the portal and once the specified fees is paid to the FTA the FTA will issue the TRC certificate.
  7. The only difference that we have is the fees – the fees for the same is little higher.
